Hi Patrick,
LOL! I had the weirdest experience once. I was auditioning for a movie -- it was so long ago, I don't even remember which one. There were a lot of scenes, a lot of dialog. I only had a day to prepare. I was really excited because it seemed like the perfect role for me. I studied and studied and studied.
During the audition, I walked in, everyone was really nice, I cracked some joke to loosen everyone up.
The director said, "Are you ready?"
I said, "Sure am." Took a deep breath and --
The director cut in and said, "We're gonna do things a little differently. Instead of doing the scenes that were sent out, let's just do a little improv."
I said, "Okay" trying to sound casual.
And then the director just started yelling at me. I had no idea what he was doing or talking about. His yelling was so personal, I thought he might actually be yelling at me, instead of doing a scene with me. I was completely at a loss as what to do next. At some point, he took a breath, waiting for me to respond. But I was so caught off guard that I must have hesitate for too long. He just looked at me.
Finally, I started to respond but I could tell that it was too late. A few minutes later I was heading home. Never heard from them again.
Weird!
